Article Marketing – Even if You’re Not an Expert
Can you write an article even if you’re not an expert on a topic? Are you an expert on internet marketing? If so, does that mean you know everything about forum marketing, ppc ads, ezine marketing, blogging? Maybe you are but chances are most people are not experts at all of these. Some may have an expertise in these areas but are not experts. Nonetheless, anyone can do article marketing—anyone, even you. So how do you write something valuable that others will read if you’re not an expert? In short, why should anyone listen to you? Good question. Let’s take a look.
You’ve got to realize that if you’re already doing any form of internet marketing you know more than others. Think about how you started off and how little you knew in the beginning. But you probably started learning on your own, testing to see what works (and doesn’t), and then gained experience. So what do you write about? Well, just that—your experience. Think about what you wish someone would have told you in the beginning.
All you have to do is choose one area where you know something—anything—about internet marketing. Then write on that topic. You’ll soon find you know more than you thought you did. Plus, once you start to write you become even more of an expert. And, perhaps most importantly, you are perceived by others as an expert. I know I have learned all kinds of internet marketing tips from all kinds of people.
As I’ve written before, you should blog your articles and send them to ezine publishers. Ezine publishers are always looking for content. Article marketing does work and is great for long-term traffic generation. If you don’t believe me, try submitting your articles to 5-10 databases and then Google search your exact article title to find out where it’s been picked up. You’ll be surprised. You’ll also find it could be translated into other languages. Keep searching it to see how many hits you get for each article over time. And don’t forget your signature box at the bottom of your article!

Don’t Write One Article a Day
I have heard many internet marketing gurus say you should write one article a day and submit it to article directories. Even though I recommend only submitting articles to 5-10 article directories, this could take quite a bit of time to look for the different websites and submit them individually. So here’s what you do instead.
The problem is time. You don’t want to spend most of your article marketing time submitting to article directories. This does not mean I recommend buying article submitter software although this works in some cases. What this means is you need to better manage your time. Let’s say you have 1 hour to work on article marketing for your business. In 1 hour you can write 2 articles. After you write the first article, would you then submit it to 5 article directories and then write the second article—and then submit the second article to 5 article directories. Of course not.
What you should do is write both articles and then submit them at the same time to the article directories. This will save you time that you can use more effectively. Of course you could spend months writing hundreds of articles and then submit them all at once but that is not what I recommend.
You should write at least one article a day but you should submit your articles every other day or every third day. A rule of thumb would be to only submit articles when you have written 3 or more. This saves quite a bit of time that you can use for whatever you’d like. You’ll also find the more articles you write a day, the easier it gets.
Make sure you choose topics others are interested in and you will soon have your article and signature box all over the internet generating sales for you. This is great for generating long-term traffic. The more time you save from submitting, the more articles you can write. Just remember to submit 3 articles or more at least 2-3 times a week.
